Mechanical Engineering Department was started in the year 1985 with a sanctioned intake of 60 + 20% of lateral entry. In the year 2006 the student strength was increased to 120+ 20% lateral entry and again in the year of 2013 the department intake was increased to 180 + 20% lateral entry. The present intake of the department is 150 + 20% lateral entry.
The department has 17 staff members and 4 technical assistants. The department has well equipped laboratories with internet and Wi-Fi connectivity
